Are You Thinking Like An Entrepreneur ?

It is clear to me that many new home based business owners sign-up with their new business opportunity and begin working/ marketing their new business but, continue to think like a worker, not as an entrepreneur.  I see this as a real concern that can certainly get in the way of  success.

Now, what do I mean by thinking like a worker rather than an entrepreneur?  A “worker” generally has the mindset of working 40 plus hours a week and earning a paycheck when the work week is complete.  This creates for the worker the sensation of contentment knowing that he/she will receive a paycheck each week.  Now I am not making this observation with the intent of being critical to the worker.  In fact, I don’t see this as a terrible mindset and in fact, it works very well for many.  But, it’s not how an entrepreneur thinks and it’s not the mindset you need to build your home based business.

An entrepreneur understands patience.  The entrepreneur knows that despite his/her efforts, there may not be a paycheck at the end of this week.  The entrepreneur understands it might take a little while before the business kicks-in, before it begins to be lucrative.  But that’s alright, an entrepreneur is in it for the long term.  In fact, it’s not at all unusual for a new online business to have a slow start.  An entrepreneur accepts this.  On that note, when you start your new home business, with a new website page, you need to give it a few months, particularly if you do not have that much experience in web marketing and not aware of the many tools available to generate traffic to your site.

But here’s the positive.  Many of the best online business owners probably took near a decade to reach their first $10,000 / month but now they're making millions. And I am confident that if you asked them whether it was worth the wait and effort, they would tell you that it was. They didn’t immediately reach their goals, it took time and patience, but now they have positioned themselves in such a way that they have residual income for the rest of their life. That’s thinking like an entrepreneur.  I urge all you new entrepreneurs out there to remind yourselves of your business goals, start to think like an entrepreneur, and never give up on your dreams.
